In commemoration of the 2nd Anniversary of the Al-Bustaniyah Waste Bank (BSA), the Al-Bustaniyah Foundation held an event entitled Development of Sustainable Waste Management on Monday, January 13, 2025, at the Al-Bustaniyah Foundation, Jalan Curug Kepuh, Link Curug Sekolah RT 003/002, Bagendung Village, Cilegon City.

The event aimed to educate and raise public awareness about the importance of sustainable waste management, introduce BSA as an effective waste management center, and promote flagship programs such as education fee payment through waste savings or Kartu Rupiah Sampah (KRS). In addition, the event also included the distribution of waste savings to BSA customers.

The event was attended by the Director of Operations and Commercial of Krakatau Chandra Energi (KCE), Ari Azhar; Chairman of Al-Bustaniyah Foundation, Ustadz Ade Fahruddin Syam'un; Lurah Bagendung, Mrs. Eha Nur Eha; representatives of the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag); and representatives of the Head of the Cilegon City Environment Office. Also present were students of Al-Bustaniyah Education Foundation and 363 BSA customers.

As a form of appreciation to the community for their contribution to the development of the Waste Bank, BSA gave awards to the top 10 best customers. In addition, KCE, as part of the Chandra Asri Group that also fosters BSA, contributed 5 food packages (5 kg rice and 2 liters cooking oil for each package) as a form of support for this sustainability program.

BSA's 2nd anniversary celebration was held with the hope of increasing community interest in saving waste, appreciating the active role of customers in waste management, and motivating the community to support environmental sustainability efforts through creative programs such as KRS.

According to Ari Azhar, Operations and Commercial Director of KCE, the company strongly supports BSA's role as one of the pioneers of effective waste management in the Bagendung area. “BSA's 2nd anniversary is an important milestone in strengthening KCE's commitment to sustainable waste management in the Cilegon City area. We hope that the development of waste management in BSA can be an inspiration for other regions in integrating environmental programs with community empowerment through collaboration between the government, private sector, and the community,” Ari Azhar explained.
