PT Krakatau Chandra Energi Supports IHC RS Krakatau Medika in Becoming a Green Hospital Through Collaboration on Solar Power Development.

Thursday 10:42 / Oct 31, 2024

Krakatau Chandra Energi (KCE) has once again been entrusted with developing Rooftop Solar Power Plants (PLTS) for tenants in the Krakatau Industrial Estate. This time, IHC Krakatau Medika Hospital officially signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with KCE as part of supporting the Government's Net Zero Emission target and becoming one of the Green Hospitals implementing solar panels as an energy source.

The signing ceremony, held in Jakarta on September 19, 2024, was attended by the KCE Board of Directors, including President Director Erri Dewi Riani; Director of Finance, HR, and Business Development Harry M. Tamin; as well as Director of Operations and Commercial Ari Azhar and SBU Department Head Ermawanto. Additionally, IHC Krakatau Medika Hospital’s President Director, Yan Eka Asmanda, and RSKM Director Dr. Yan Hardi Luthan, along with their team, were present.

Through this agreement, IHC Krakatau Medika Hospital will benefit from operational cost savings, strengthened branding as a Green Hospital, and fulfillment of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria. Under this arrangement, IHC Krakatau Medika Hospital only needs to provide the rooftop space, as KCE will handle the full investment, procurement, installation, and maintenance of the Rooftop PLTS. This is one of the benefits KCE offers as an Energy Service Company to meet the hospital’s sustainable electricity needs. The Rooftop PLTS installation is expected to reduce carbon emissions by 158.8 tons of CO2 equivalent per year.
